ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COMMISSION FOR ASIA AND THE PACIFIC (ESCAP) The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) aims to initiate and participate in measures for concerted action towards the development of Asia and the Pacific, including the social aspects of such development, with a view to raising the level of economic activity and standards of living and maintaining and strengthening the economic relations of countries and territories in the region, both among themselves and with other countries in the world.
