In a big city like DKI-Jakarta, the biggest pollutant emission contribution comes from transportation sector, which is about 76%. The growth of vehicles in DKI-Jakarta, in the las t five years, shows the significant increase that is 5.09% per year. The heights of buildings on the road sides also affect the windflow circulation which will make the air quality around the road getting worse. The research is aimed to know how the pollutant dispersion on the main road in morning, day, and afternoon changes because of the mechanical turbulence effects caused by wind and vehicles. The research was done along Jalan Thamrin, DKI-Jakarta, and took three sampling areas; those are in front of Wisma Nusantara, Sarinah, and Sari Pan Pacific Hotel. The data are collected by doing some observation, direct measurement of CO pollutant, and also getting secondary data from the connected institute. The result shows that the ratio between the average height of the buildings (H) and the width of the road (W) is 1.2. It means that if the average height of the buildings is bigger than the width of the road, so it will cause the area dispersion of pollutant become limited. For the limited area, the wind speed is quite calm; it is about 0,78-1,59 m/s. In this condition, the mechanical turbulence rate has a linear relation with the increase of vehicles that cross the road. The research shows that the mechanical turbulence rate is about 0.97-1.13 m/s. It means that the rate of CO pollutant is quite high in the Central of the road and then spread out slowly to the sides of the road, and the occurred dispersion pattern follows the vehicles motions in morning, day, and afternoon.
